Site Visit Team Responsibilities

A principal goal of accreditation is to help a program and improve planning education, but a Site Visit Team’s primary responsibility is adjudicating minimum compliance with criteria by:

  • Reviewing the Program’s Self-Study Report, the prior Site Visit Report, the Site Visit Manual, and any related materials provided by the Program or by the PAB staff;
  • Assessing the adequacy of the evidence in the Self-Study Report and, if necessary, requesting additional evidence before and/or during the visit;
  • Examining the operation, resources, and general nature of the program through interviews, review of student work, and visits to program and institution facilities;
  • Conducting its evaluation and visit with complete confidentiality; and
  • Submitting to the PAB a written report detailing the team’s evaluation of the program’s compliance with the accreditation standards
