Bristol S. Ellington was named Assistant City Manager for the city of Henderson in November 2007. He manages the day-to-day operations for various city departments. From July 2005 to November 2007, he served as Director of Community Development. Mr. Ellington previously served as the Assistant Director of Community Development, where he directly supervised the Current Planning and Long Range Planning divisions. Since joining the city of Henderson in 1996, the city’s population has increased from 130,116 to over 300,000 today.
Mr. Ellington received his master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in May 2009. Additionally, he has a master’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Wisconsin. He was admitted to the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) in 1995 and is a Credential Manager through the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
