Pauletta Brown Bracy, Ph.D.
Pauletta Brown Bracy is Director of the Office of University Accreditation and Professor of Library Science at North Carolina Central University. She has extensive accreditation experience with the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (formerly the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) in which she served in several governance capacities including Chair of the Executive Board. Additionally, she recently completed a term of Vice President on the Board of Directors of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors (ASPA).
Dr. Bracy’s other work in the field includes memberships on the Board of Directors of the Commission on Allied Health Education Programs and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation Committee on Recognition; Institutional Liaison for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges; and Site Visitor for the American Bar Association.
As a library educator, Dr. Bracy’s areas of specialization are children’s and young adult services and resources, and school media librarianship. She holds a B.A. in English from Fisk University, the M.L.S. from the University of Pittsburgh, and the Ph.D. in Library Science from The University of Michigan.
